At less than three months before my very big day, I feel it no longer necessary to make excuses for my crazy freak outs. I know a few other girls who are getting married, I’m reading more and more blogs from people documenting their experiences like I am (HEY GIRLSSSS) and it’s causing me to find myself alone in my house on a rainy day crying my eyes out because somebody home videoed their perfect rehearsal dinner.
Don’t judge me, you’d do it too.
I’m to the point where the big things are done:
Catering
Dessert
Venue
Dress
Bridesmaids
Etc…
So I’m back to obsessing over details. The past few days it’s been an obsession with finding an alternative to Canon in D for the walk down the aisle. I’m weepy anyway, but even more so when I’m youtube searching for ideas and I run across stuff like this:
Yeah, that’s right.
I know I’m a sucker. But I’m also an unlikely sucker because when this little gem hit the internet every facebook friend of mine who dreams of being a Disney Princess went crazy:
And I was like, “LAME!”
But it’s making me think. There’s a lot of Bridal Chorus out there and I’m not sure if that’s what I want. There’s also stuff like this:
Which is also something I’m not sure that I want. Actually, I’m sure. I absolutely don’t want that.
(Is it just me or is everyone that’s at this wedding, groom included, look either bored or uncomfortable?)
Anyway, I’m still brain storming but I think I’d like a slightly unconventional classical piece (#snob) but we’ll see. Napkin and I are really lucky to have incredible friends (seriously, we wouldn’t be anywhere close to getting married without them) and a few rad dudes are going to play for the first hour of our reception. I present to you some of the playlist!
I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend – The Ramones
Georgia On My Mind – Ray Charles
These Arms of Mine – Otis Redding
Glory of Love – Peter Cetera (thhaaat’s right)
Unchained Melody – The Righteous Brothers
Book of Love – Magnetic Fields
When A Man Loves A Woman – Percy Sledge
I Want To Know What Love Is – Foreigner
(That’s a skinny morsel of what they’re going to play but I don’t want to give too much away.) Should I bully them into playing something during the ceremony as well? I don’t know. I’d really like the whole day to be full of songs. Songs that are sweet and meaningful to us and also songs that are hilarious, epic and wonderful.
What songs did you/are you thinking of using at your wedding? Or what are some songs that have specific memories for you that you love?

PS Writing the above list of songs made me cry again. Oh brother.
Oh, GOOD LORD. Look, I had been curious about that girl singing herself down the aisle. Her voice was okay, but still…if I had been a guest at that wedding I’d be trying not to laugh because it’s ridiculous. This isn’t WEDDING: THE MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZA.
I consider it abusing your privileges as a bride.
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY, SISTER. I mean, I know most people consider weddings “The Bride Show” but this…
